Treehouse of North Captiva

The North Captiva effect is instantaneous. Slip into a T-shirt and your most comfortable sandals. Don't forget your beach bag for "treasures." Grab a drink and relax to the peaceful sounds of wind blowing through the palm trees. Stroll down a sandy path past gumbo-limbo, bougainvillea, hibiscus and coconut palms to your favorite beach. Take a deep breathe. In the distance dolphins and pelicans make their lazy journeys. Open a book, cast your fishing rod, or slip on your mask and snorkel.  Wait for your eyes to land on the little gifts that wash up from the sea.

In the evening stroll the beach at sunset and try something new in your kitchen, perhaps grill your catch of the day. Or maybe wander into a local restaurant or the pool bar and make some new friends.

The Treehouse was built in 2000 by Upper Captiva's prestigious builder, Dan Davenport, and the talented craftspeople of Team Davenport. The villa is nicely decorated and fully furnished -- with screened in porches and a crow's nest offering Gulf and Bay views. Large windows brighten every room and provide sunny views of the island's tropical wildlife and vegetation. Other features of the villa include:

  • dramatic 20 foot ceilings
  • 10 ceiling fans
  • warm Georgia pine-covered walls in the kitchen, dining room, and living room
  • large windows and bright sunshine throughout
  • Four decks including recreation room with Ping-Pong table
  • whirlpool/spa
  • electric grill
  • ground-floor shower with hot/cold water

Coming in the summer 2002: a screened-enclosed 5-6 person outdoor spa, sun-deck, and tiki hut/bar; and, third bedroom/changing room on the ground floor.

Off the master bedroom is a deck featuring a heated whirlpool/spa in a very private setting. The screened-in deck on the main floor has an electric grill and cozy rattan furniture. A recently added 1000 sq. ft. screened-in deck on the groundfloor includes a Ping-Pong table (table tennis).

The Treehouse has a complete kitchen equipped with a full stove, microwave oven, refrigerator w/ice-maker, coffee maker, garbage disposal, dishwasher, pots, pans, plates, glasses, table service for eight, mixing bowls, plastic storage containers, coffee filters, etc, etc. Other amenities include a full-size washer\dryer, vacuum cleaner, iron, direct dial phone, color television/VCR, CD stereo, and a variety of games, puzzles, books, videos, CDs, and more.
