Most people bring food with them, and occasionally visit the three
excellent, reasonably
priced restaurants on the island.
To
bring your own food, we recommend one of these three options:
If
you prefer to shop for your own food, have your cab driver
stop at the grocery store while you shop. Stores located on the
road between the airport and Pine Island include Winn-Dixie, Kash
& Karry, and Publix. Usually $10 for 20 min wait time; have
goods packed for transportation (plastic inside paper).
Fax
your grocery list to Publix (941.458.7822 fax; 941.458.8900 phone).
Give them your flight arrival time, have cab/shuttle stop by the
store, they will have groceries boxed and ready to go for boat
travel at no extra cost.
Fax
a grocery list to Mainline Connections (941.283.6311).
Groceries will be stocked in the house upon your arrival. They
charge a 40% shopping and handling fee and have a $40 minimum.
By far the most convenient option.
