We are pleased to announce that the 2007 SRC Fellowship to the 13th Fall International Stereology Workshop has been awarded to Ms. Clare Walton, a Ph.D. student in Neuroscience at Rockefeller University, New York, NY.

Students in the biomedical sciences interested in the principles and practices of unbiased stereology are encouraged to apply for the annual SRC Fellowship. SRC Fellowship awards include a waiver of the registration fee for the upcoming Fall International Stereology Workshop. SRC Fellows also make
a short presentation of their research at the course. Fellows are responsible for their sleeping accommodations, travel to/from the meeting, and other costs during the workshop.

Applicants for SRC Stereology Fellowships must be undergraduate, graduate,
or postdoctoral students actively engaged in biomedical research in
the year of their application.

Eligible applicants should should send their CV/resume, a one-page description
of the research topic, and a letter of recommendation from a senior
research advisor to:

Selection criteria include objective evidence of commitment; scientific achievement; and, most importantly, potential to benefit from stereology training at the Fall Stereology Workshop held every year in conjunction with the Annual Fall Meeting of the Society For Neurosciences.
Applications for the 2008 fellowship competition will be accepted between August 1, 2008 and September 15, 2008. Awardees will be posted on this webpage on Friday, September 19, 2008.
