2012 SRC Fellowship in Unbiased Stereology
We are pleased to open the competition for the 13th "SRC Fellowship in Unbiased Stereology" for the 18th Annual Fall International Stereology Workshop.
The recipient of the 13th SRC Fellowship will receive a waiver of the registration fee for the 18th Annual
International Fall Stereology Workshop to be held in New Orleans, LA on October 10-12, 2012*.
Applicants must be
undergraduate, graduate, or postdoctoral students actively engaged in
biomedical research in the year of their application. Otherwise, the only pre-requisite is an interest in the applications of design-based (unbiased) stereology to biological tissue. The Awardee of the 2012 Stereology Fellowship will have the opportunity to present their research to participants at the New Orleans Stereology Workshop.
Applications will be accepted between June 10, 2012 and September 10, 2012, with applicants notified of the SRC's decision by September 17, 2012. Applicants that do not receive the Stereology Fellowship will have the opportunity to register for the 2012 Stereology Workshop at the early registration price ($850).
Students interested in the Stereology Fellowship should email their CV/resume, a
one-page description of their research topic, and a letter of recommendation from
a senior research advisor to SRC@disector.com.
Selection criteria include objective evidence of commitment to scientific research and the potential to benefit from comprehensive stereology training at the 2012 Fall Stereology Workshop in New Orleans, LA.
*The recipient of this award is responsible for sleeping accommodations, travel to/from the meeting, evening meals, and incidental costs associated with the workshop.
